If the length of a rectangle is reduced by 5 units and breadth is increased by 3 units, the area is reduced by 9 sq units. If we increase length by 3 and breadth by 2, area increases by 67. Find length.
A17
B9
C12
D20
✓ Correct Answer: A — 17
(L-5)(B+3)=LB-9 -> 3L-5B=6. (L+3)(B+2)=LB+67 -> 2L+3B=61. Solving 3L-5B=6 and 2L+3B=61 gives L=17, B=9.
